World Travelers Wed on Sanibel Island – Casa Ybel Resort { Lindsay + Gordon }

When Lindsay and Gordon called us from Europe to plan to their beach wedding on Sanibel Island, we knew this would be an international affair.  Guests came from all over the globe to watch Lindsay and Gordon say “I do” on the beach at Casa Ybel Resort.  Details of the wedding highlighted the couples many travels together while also carrying a distinct Florida vibe.

Nautical Beach Wedding on Sanibel Island – Casa Ybel Resort { Laura + Kevin }

Laura and Kevin spend a lot of time on the water.  It was only natural for them to choose a wedding location on the beach and deck it out with nautical nods.  When the rain came, it didn’t dampen their spirits.  The skies cleared and this cheerful couple literally tied the knot on the Sanibel shore line.

Tropical florals in shades of violet enhanced the romantic factor in Alexis & Josh’s Sanibel beach wedding.  Their ceremony on the beach at Casa Ybel Resort was breathtaking as the waves of the Gulf of Mexico lapped the shore and a gentle sea breeze filled the air.  The sunset was one not to be missed!  Vibrant colors painted across the sky made for the perfect portrait backdrop.

Sanibel Island holds a special place in the hearts of so many, even the locals.  That is especially true for Miranda and Jacob, sweethearts who grew up in Fort Myers.  When they decided to tie the knot, they didn’t have to look much further than their own backyard for the perfect beach wedding location.  Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel was their choice for a celebration on the sand and a tented reception overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

Lush Seaside Landscape {Emily + David} Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

Casa-Ybel-Wedding(2)Guests were met with flutes of bubbling champagne on the beach, billowy white clouds scattered throughout the blue skies over the beach, and strains of ukulele music in the wind. All of these elements made for the perfect beach wedding for Emily and David. Their intimate ceremony on the beach was followed by a mouthwatering dinner on the patio at Thistle Lodge. Beautifully plated grilled filet mignon and butter poached lobster tails were followed by Lady Cakes delicious lemon buttercream filled cake.

Birds of a Feather – Sanibel Island Wedding { Laura + Dan }

Connell_Walls_Wed-341Laura and her family have been visiting the shores of Sanibel Island and staying at Casa Ybel Resort for years.  It seemed only natural that Laura & Dan fly all the way from Australia (where they live), guests-in-tow, to this magical little island when they decided to tie the knot.  They skipped the beach for the ceremony and had a lawn wedding overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.  We love their sense of humor – from the Australian-American translation guide to their pink flamingos that seemed to show up whenever you least expected.  This is a family that knows how to laugh.  We were honored that they chose Casa Ybel Resort for their destination wedding and we look forward to seeing them year after year.

Tropical Tented Beach Wedding – Sanibel Island, Florida { Helena + Drew }

Helena and Drew wanted to bring their wedding guests to a tropical setting for a spring time getaway.  Sanibel Island’s Casa Ybel Resort was the perfect location for their destination wedding.  With sand between their toes and sunshine on their faces, these two exchanged marriage vows on the beach at Casa Ybel as their guests looked on with cold beverages in hand.  Desiring to experience the full beauty of an outdoor beach wedding, Helena and Drew continued the event under a tent on Casa Ybel’s ocean front back lawn where guests danced the night away and enjoyed the coastal breeze from the Gulf of Mexico.

Happily Ever After Begins Here { Courtney + Michael } Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

Courtney and Michael’s wedding ceremony on the beaches of Casa Ybel featured a stunning backdrop, the calm blue green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. After the ceremony the celebration moved upstairs to Thistle Lodge’s Waterfront Room for a buffet dinner featuring a roasted Prime Rib carving station. Guests were treated to views of a sunset over the Gulf and entertainment from Steve Farst to top off a perfect evening.
