One totally amazing backdrop at the Casa Ybel Resort, a sweet and adorable couple who just can’t stop smiling, pretty natural blooms, a stunningly unique dress, and the most spectacular fiery sunset to end the night – that is just a tiny glimpse into what made Chelsea & Austin’s seaside soirée so fabulous. We are forever grateful to Studio 280 Photography for these perfect images that really put the icing on the cake of this lovely day.

This recent Florida wedding took place on the beautiful Sanibel Island off the coast of Ft. Myers. The couple enjoyed a perfect mid December day with temperatures in the low 70s without a cloud in the sky. I convinced them to do a first look and do most of their family and friends photos before the ceremony which was close to sunset. They agreed and we took full advantage of the resort before it got dark. Congratulations to you both on your Florida destination wedding!

Laura and David had their intimate wedding on Sanibel Island June 23 at a secluded beach. They were joined by their parents for this intimate destination wedding. After the ceremony they returned to the Thistle Lodge on Sanibel for a celebration dinner. Thistle Lodge is an award winning restaurant that has been on Sanibel Island for many years. Thistle Lodge is a part of the Casa Ybel Resort. This is a great venue for a destination wedding. In my twenty years as a Sanibel photographer, I have photographed many weddings here. Some of the beach weddings are intimate with just a bride and groom and maybe some friends. The Thistle Lodge Restaurant can accomodate weddings of over one hundred guests. With a wedding ceremony on the beach, guests will just walk less than a minute to be in the restaurant. Thistle Lodge has amazing landscaping and unique, colorful Florida plants and trees. The wedding guests can stay at the resort interval time share units. The wedding photography can start with pictures on the green lawn then a quick walk to the beach for the ceremony. After the ceremony we take some family photographs. While we do this, the guests will usually walk the beach looking for seashells. As the whole world knows, Sanibel Island is famous for shelling!

Patricia Slater, a Sanibel and Fort Myers area wedding officiant for over 30 years, performed the sunset ceremony. Patricia, a Sanibel Island resident, provided the flowers for this destination wedding. Patricia has been performing intimate wedding ceremonies on Sanibel Island and the Fort Myers area for over 30 years. Her services include providing the marriage license, working with the bride for salon appointments, choosing the wedding flowers, recommending and reserving hotel rooms, wedding celebration dinner reservations and any other wedding details that can use the experience, knowledge and 42 years as a Sanibel Island resident.

Wedding couples flock from all over the country to Casa Ybel Resort to celebrate their love. One of the gems is our Back Lawn overlooking the sea. Tent weddings on this Gulf view lawn are the epitome of timeless elegance. Chicago couple, Shannon and Andrew, combined white and ivory with touches of silver and seafoam for a color palette that was simply stunning. Florida wedding planner, Courtney Gabelbauer of Fab Chic Weddings, pulled this breathtaking oceanfront event together with finesse. The floral chandeliers and white dance floor took this tented beach wedding over the top.

Colorful Florida Wedding At A Pop-Up Soda Shoppe

Day 2 of our two part series from the creative team of Florida wedding vendors turns up the dial in such a joyful way! If you missed Day 1, be sure to check it out here! Inspired by the rich vibrant hues in Connie Duglin Linens swatch book, the team brought to life a rainbow inspired palette of turquoise, yellow & fuchsia as imagined into a 1940′s style pop up soda shoppe! The beauty to this playful façade, handcrafted by Florida wedding planner CocoLuna Events, is how wonderfully interactive that it is from the ability to nip behind and into the store window to the flower box out front filled with cascading greens by Floral Artistry. A sweetheart low boy table was erected out front for cocktails post ceremony, dressed in the bold linens from Connie Duglin’s collection while guests were served…. handcrafted sodas in matching hues of course! The rest is in the details from Anna & Kerry’s gorgeous retro prep style to their utterly unstoppable smiles & laughter. Sometimes such bold hues can be difficult to work with, but this imaginative crew crafted a uniquely whimsical & playful world that it is so hard not to get swept right along with this sweet little Florida wedding!
