So many Casa Ybel wedding couples book because Sanibel Island is a special place to them. It’s not uncommon for our destination clients to schedule a trip to the island for planning purposes and, while they’re here, an engagement photo shoot on the beach. Before Audrey and Stephen tied the knot at Casa Ybel Resort, they stopped by for a photo session on the diverse property.
Rachel & Eric planned their Sanibel Island destination wedding from their home in Minnesota. They got married on the beach as a storm passed by, just missing the island, don’tcha know. Their wedding décor was soft and delicate and oh-so-romantic. Their family and friends joined them on the Patio at Casa Ybel Resort for a night of incredible food, live entertainment and more fun than you can shake a stick at!
Getting married on the beach doesn’t mean you have to go casual. Caitlin & Jay’s sophisticated style dressed up this Sanibel Island wedding. Touches of blush, rosewood and sage complemented by gold accents set the tone for a romantic wedding reception overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Siusan and Brian’s destination wedding at Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island had more than the ocean and the gentle sea breeze. Their beach wedding celebration was filled with family, friends and ridiculously romantic images.
Coco Luna Events does it again! Lauren and Philip imagined an ocean-side wedding with a bohemian flair. With a watercolor palette of purples and accents in metallic rose gold and rustic wood, this Sanibel Island wedding was both boho and sophisticated.
Raquel and Greg were such a fun couple to work with, their love and excitement on wedding day obviously shines here. Lush greenery accents could be found everywhere; the arch on the beach, the sweetheart table, and Raquel’s stunning flower crown. Casa Ybel’s white sandy beach hosted the intimate ceremony and guests were wined and dined on Thistle Lodge’s patio. The grounds through out Casa Ybel offered some amazing spots for Raquel and Greg’s first look photos and the Gulf of Mexico proved a stunning backdrop for sunset beach photos.
It was brought to our attention recently that we don’t feature Patio receptions enough on here. Patio receptions are hugely popular at Sanibel Island’s Casa Ybel Resort. Dining outdoors with the safety of the lighted Patio awning is ultra-romantic. We especially love Rachel & Jake’s wedding from this past winter.
Casa Ybel Resort‘s history dates back to the 1880’s. It’s been a haven for lovers since the founder’s daughter, Georgia, married a guest of the inn. It’s no surprise that couples from all over the world flock to Sanibel Island to get married on the shores of Casa Ybel Resort and dine in the historic Thistle Lodge, a replica of the Victorian manor built for Georgia and her husband as a wedding gift.
It was the historic feature that made Casa Ybel Resort the perfect fit for Chris and Maggie’s vintage infused beach wedding. With a distinct 1930’s style, guests enjoyed music played on an old phonograph (an invention of Thomas Edison – one of Casa Ybel’s most famous guests), sat at tables adorned with simple timeless florals and even snapped photos sitting on a 1930’s inspired half moon (designed by the bride’s father).
There are few things we love more at Casa Ybel Resort than beach weddings that sparkle. Taryn and David’s Sanibel Island wedding was romantic from the white sand ceremony to the dazzling blush reception overlooking the ocean. While romance was already in the air, the shimmer and shine of it all brought smiles to all who saw.
