Beachside Ceremony { Stephanie + Austin } Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

For Stephanie and Austin it was important for them to incorporate family into their wedding on the beach at Casa Ybel. The calm waters of the gulf behind them for the ceremony, their daughter took part in the I Do’s and his mother created the simple yet elegant bridal party bouquets. Guests moved in the the Waterfront Room at Thistle Lodge for the reception. Friends and family were treated to an impressive dinner buffet that included Hibachi Salmon and a Beef Strip Loin carving station. The new Mr. and Mrs. had the opportunity to take some stunning photos after dark on the beach and in front of the Thistle Lodge.

Birds of a Feather – Sanibel Island Wedding { Laura + Dan }

Connell_Walls_Wed-341Laura and her family have been visiting the shores of Sanibel Island and staying at Casa Ybel Resort for years.  It seemed only natural that Laura & Dan fly all the way from Australia (where they live), guests-in-tow, to this magical little island when they decided to tie the knot.  They skipped the beach for the ceremony and had a lawn wedding overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.  We love their sense of humor – from the Australian-American translation guide to their pink flamingos that seemed to show up whenever you least expected.  This is a family that knows how to laugh.  We were honored that they chose Casa Ybel Resort for their destination wedding and we look forward to seeing them year after year.

Happily Ever After Begins Here { Courtney + Michael } Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

Courtney and Michael’s wedding ceremony on the beaches of Casa Ybel featured a stunning backdrop, the calm blue green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. After the ceremony the celebration moved upstairs to Thistle Lodge’s Waterfront Room for a buffet dinner featuring a roasted Prime Rib carving station. Guests were treated to views of a sunset over the Gulf and entertainment from Steve Farst to top off a perfect evening.

Katie and Ryan chose the lush expanse of Casa Ybel’s back lawn for their ceremony, towering palms on each side as they said their I Do’s. Marissa and Timothy’s Sanibel Island beach wedding at Casa Ybel Resort was the idyllic destination event.  Saying their vows on the white sand shore of the Gulf of Mexico and celebrating with music and dancing in Casa Ybel’s ocean view Waterfront Room, the couple and their guests were surrounded by sea shells and starfish and fresh flowers, reminding them all along of the scenic beach locale.

Vintage Seaside Wedding on Sanibel Island { Maggie + Chris } – Casa Ybel Resort

our-wedding-6994Casa Ybel Resort‘s history dates back to the 1880’s.  It’s been a haven for lovers since the founder’s daughter, Georgia, married a guest of the inn.  It’s no surprise that couples from all over the world flock to Sanibel Island to get married on the shores of Casa Ybel Resort and dine in the historic Thistle Lodge, a replica of the Victorian manor built for Georgia and her husband as a wedding gift.

It was the historic feature that made Casa Ybel Resort the perfect fit for Chris and Maggie’s vintage infused beach wedding.  With a distinct 1930’s style, guests enjoyed music played on an old phonograph (an invention of Thomas Edison – one of Casa Ybel’s most famous guests), sat at tables adorned with simple timeless florals and even snapped photos sitting on a 1930’s inspired half moon (designed by the bride’s father).

Danielle and Matt are Floridians – the beach is their backyard.  They chose Casa Ybel Resort for their Sanibel Island wedding for the lush lawns and water views – not for the sand.  Their nautical themed wedding put a sophisticated twist on the seaside wedding.  With the ceremony and tented reception on Casa Ybel’s grassy lawns overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, guests were treated to the very best Sanibel Island has to offer.
