We had a great pleasure meeting this couple last year for the first time. We took their engagement pictures here in Naples, and this year it was time to celebrate their marriage and photograph their wedding at Casa Ybel Resort in Sanibel. It was an awesome day, and we got really lucky with the weather!
Mark and Ashley were introduced through Ashley’s aunt and had never met despite having many mutual friends. They went out a few times and the reason they were never introduced by their friends became obvious, they were exact opposites. She was artsy, he was far from it, she was very neat and organized and he couldn’t spell the word. After a few dates they stopped talking, as the timing and differences seemed too much to overcome. From that time forward they seemed to run into each other frequently, which is strange for two people who had never met before. Fast forward three years and after several chance run-ins with Ashley, things seemed a little different. Maybe it was that they both stopped trying so hard, maybe the awkward getting to know each other period was over, but something seemed different. Mark realized what a fool he had been, dusted off Ashley’s number and asked her out. This time around things were different, where there had been awkward silence there was now laughter, when it was difficult to make eye contact, there was now a spark. Mark and Ashley were now a perfect fit. Twelve months later Mark was on his knee in the laundry room of their new home asking Ashley to be his wife. This goes to show, nothing is perfect and things don’t always go as planned right down to the proposal, but for this couple it was perfect. Turns out Ashley’s Aunt Merilee was right, these two are perfect for each other.
