What an outstanding Venue and experience we had to share with our friends and family on our special day. The details not over looked here, at Casa Y bel Resort was Outstanding. Rooms and reservations made our home away from home fantastic, what a view along with a personal touch. The Executive Chef and the catering staff exceeded our expectations with class and elegance. The events manager was two steps ahead and was spot on with the small details that made our day a gem. Thank You, Casa Y Bel Resort for making our dream come true.

Tropical Tented Beach Wedding – Sanibel Island, Florida { Helena + Drew }

Helena and Drew wanted to bring their wedding guests to a tropical setting for a spring time getaway.  Sanibel Island’s Casa Ybel Resort was the perfect location for their destination wedding.  With sand between their toes and sunshine on their faces, these two exchanged marriage vows on the beach at Casa Ybel as their guests looked on with cold beverages in hand.  Desiring to experience the full beauty of an outdoor beach wedding, Helena and Drew continued the event under a tent on Casa Ybel’s ocean front back lawn where guests danced the night away and enjoyed the coastal breeze from the Gulf of Mexico.

Happily Ever After Begins Here { Courtney + Michael } Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

Courtney and Michael’s wedding ceremony on the beaches of Casa Ybel featured a stunning backdrop, the calm blue green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. After the ceremony the celebration moved upstairs to Thistle Lodge’s Waterfront Room for a buffet dinner featuring a roasted Prime Rib carving station. Guests were treated to views of a sunset over the Gulf and entertainment from Steve Farst to top off a perfect evening.

Elegant Beachside Ceremony { Jessica + Alistair } Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

It was all about elegance at Jessica and Alistair’s ceremony and reception at Casa Ybel. Shades of pink and blush in the arrangements from Libby’s stood out against navy blue linens and sophisticated silver chargers under the tent. The party continued late into the night at Casa Ybel’s Thistle Lodge where guests were treated to late night flatbreads and sliders and flowing drinks.

Our wedding was in May at sunset…the natural shoreline and sand dunes shells and beach vegetation made perfect setting for our wedding pictures by Nick Adams. Julie and BJ brought in colors from the beautiful gulf waters and Florida skies when planning their Sanibel Island dream wedding. Carrie Darling Events made sure no detail was missed with coordinating coral centerpieces, personalized drink coozies, and custom stationary to make sure guests knew all the details for each wedding event. The fun continued late into the night with an after party at Thistle Lodge with late night snacks and cocktails.

The photos from Heather and Patrick’s wedding say it all. The iconic wooden bridge leading onto Casa Ybel’s property provided the stunning backdrop for a post-sunset photoshoot. Libby’s Flowers stood out with deep, bold colors and bright succulents.  With rustic touches and deep plum accents this tented reception was simple yet sophisticated, very fitting to the bride and groom’s style.

Stunning under the Stars { Summer & Yi } Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island

Summer and Yi wanted something a little different when they came to Casa Ybel to plan their perfect wedding day. The back lawn was the perfect location but they wanted an open feeling not covered by a tent. An inviting farm table, cafe lights strung between palms and succulent florals all made this intimate dinner a night to remember under the stars for the radiant bride and groom.

Sunset Perfection { Julia + Riley } Casa Ybel – Sanibel Island

My Daughter’s Casa Ybel Wedding

Julia and Riley came all the way from Seattle for their wedding on Sanibel Island. With direction from Tori, the wedding manager at Casa Ybel and Patricia Slater, a wedding planner on Sanibel Island for over twenty five years, the wedding was a joy to witness. Julia’s sister, Francesca, helped with the wedding photography, as Frank had to walk the bride down the aisle. The day started around 4pm with a ‘first look’. Riley presented Julia with her bridal bouquet, a beautifully colored creation by Floral Artistry of Sanibel Island. Riley had his back turned as Julia walked along the sidewalk at Casa Ybel Resort and tapped him on the shoulder. See a few pictures below for the loving and joyful emotions that Francesca captured. For the intimate ceremony, siblings and parents of the bride and groom gathered on the beach behind the Thistle Lodge Restaurant. Patricia Slater performed the ceremony with Julie Cromwell providing music on her cello. Julia’s niece, Olive, presented the rings during the ceremony. Family pictures were taken after the ceremony with Julia’s nephew, two year old Atticus providing some happy laughter as he played in the sand in his tie and jacket. Friends and family of Julia and Riley arrived for an outdoor tent reception on the lawn overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Music was provided by Eric Tharp and dancing continued until 10pm. Shown here are some of our favorite images we captured at my daughter’s wedding at Casa Ybel.

Julia and Riley met seven years and seven months ago, when they were seventeen. Their first interest together was riding dirt bikes on the trails. After high school graduation, they went to the University of Florida in Gainesville. They completed their four years and continued into a masters program, Julia in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and Riley in Construction Management. With that completed, they moved to Seattle for their employment and phoned home to their parents that they set their wedding date.
