We get so excited when one of our weddings gets published and we couldn’t be more thrilled to learn that The Knot picked up Melissa & Evan’s Intimate Sanibel Beach Wedding! The following is reposted from TheKnot.com:

A Classic Beach Wedding at Casa Ybel Resort in Sanibel Island, Florida

Melissa Babins (28 and a teacher) and Evan Flechsig (27 and a programmer) had their wedding in the same place they got engaged: Sanibel Island, Florida. The place is special to them because they have often visited the island’s wildlife refuge together. Because Evan proposed to Melissa on the beach at sunset, it was only fitting that their ceremony also have beautiful water views. The couple was married on the waterfront lawn at the Casa Ybel Resort. To let the venue’s beautiful surroundings speak for itself, Melissa and Evan decorated the ceremony area simply with a draped white wedding arch covered in black, white and gold streamers. They hung sentimental photos from the chairs on the ceremony aisle. At the following reception indoors, Melissa and Evan decorated the dining tables with simple white floral centerpieces and floating candles in ornate silver holders. Instead of having a traditional guest book, the couple invited their guests to sign a dry-erase board and add word magnets to the board as a fun touch. Colorful Florida Wedding At A Pop-Up Soda Shoppe

Day 2 of our two part series from the creative team of Florida wedding vendors turns up the dial in such a joyful way! If you missed Day 1, be sure to check it out here! Inspired by the rich vibrant hues in Connie Duglin Linens swatch book, the team brought to life a rainbow inspired palette of turquoise, yellow & fuchsia as imagined into a 1940′s style pop up soda shoppe! The beauty to this playful façade, handcrafted by Florida wedding planner CocoLuna Events, is how wonderfully interactive that it is from the ability to nip behind and into the store window to the flower box out front filled with cascading greens by Floral Artistry. A sweetheart low boy table was erected out front for cocktails post ceremony, dressed in the bold linens from Connie Duglin’s collection while guests were served…. handcrafted sodas in matching hues of course! The rest is in the details from Anna & Kerry’s gorgeous retro prep style to their utterly unstoppable smiles & laughter. Sometimes such bold hues can be difficult to work with, but this imaginative crew crafted a uniquely whimsical & playful world that it is so hard not to get swept right along with this sweet little Florida wedding!

Sanibel Island Wedding Video { Vivian + Scott }

We recently posted photos from Vivian and Scott’s incredible Sanibel Island wedding at Casa Ybel Resort. We can’t get enough of this tent wedding! On the day of their wedding, it rained all morning and the winds were unusually high, but moments before the ceremony was slated to begin, the rain subsided. Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island Wedding Venue { Erica + Erik }

Sure, Casa Ybel has a beautiful shell strewn beach, but you don’t have to get sand in your shoes to get married here. Erica & Erik opted for a ceremony on our grassy lawn overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and a reception on our Poolside Patio for a nautical style wedding. Tented Beach Wedding – Sanibel Island, FL { Jennifer + Fred }

Fred & Jennifer’s tented beach wedding at Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island was one for the ages! Hunter Ryan Photo really captured the spirit of these two and their fun-loving wedding guests. Some of our favorite features: the wine ceremony, the seashell escort cards, the suckling pig (Fred’s favorite, for sure!), the long dinner tables, Jennifer’s wardrobe change into a gold sequin designer gown and the photo booth shenanigans. This much fun couldn’t possibly have been contained indoors. A tent reception on our grassy lawn overlooking the beach was the perfect setting for such a perfect evening.

Tropical Florida Wedding – Sanibel Island { Courtney + Kyle }

This was a fun Casa Ybel Resort wedding for the friends and family of this couple from Staten Island. It was a destination wedding for most of the family and friends, Kyle and Courtney moved to the Fort Myers area just weeks before hurricane Sandy. Most of their old neigborhood was affected by the huge storm that summer. The ceremony was on the beach for their Casa Ybel Resort Wedding.

After Kyle and Courtney’s Casa Ybel Resort wedding ceremony, the guests walked to the tented lawn. They enjoyed cocktails and music while we continued photographing the families and bridal party. When we finished the group photographs, we had some time for the bride and groom to walk the beach. Courtney’s gown looked great as the wind picked up the train while they walked along the Casa Ybel Resort Beach. The cool evening breeze flowed through this tent wedding with music, candlelight and dinner throughout the wedding. Later in the evening, the party continued in the Waterfront Room, upstairs at the Thistle Lodge Restaurant. Shown here are some of my favorite photographs that we created at this Casa Ybel Resort Wedding. This Sanibel Island resort is well-known for destination weddings.

Tropical Beach Tent Wedding – Sanibel Island, FL { Christina + Samuel }

Tropical islands like Sanibel are a big draw for so many engaged couples. Christina & Samuel wanted to host their friends and family in the natural setting of the island and opted for a tented reception on Casa Ybel’s grassy lawn overlooking the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. The result was an authentic Sanibel Island experience: ceremony on the beach with the sound of the waves crashing in the background, al fresco cocktail hour on the lawn and a tented reception with a spectacular view of the ocean and the wildlife that Sanibel treasures.

Best Wedding Destination in Florida – Sanibel Island Elopement {Kristina + Tobias}

We had great please of meeting a young couple who traveled all the way from Germany to get married here in Southwest Florida. They chose Casa Ybel for their intimate wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! These kids have quite a story to share, so here it is:

The paths of Kristina and Tobias would never have crossed had they not attended a speed dating event in their home town of Frankfurt/Germany. Kristina simply because she was curious, Tobias because a friend of his did not want to go by herself and asked him to join. The rules of this event were simple: 7 men and 7 women got to know each other in one-on-one conversations lasting 7 minutes each. In their 7 minutes together, Kristina and Tobias instantly made a connection talking about cars and motorcycles, but way too soon the bell rang, their mini-date was over and it was time to decide if they want to meet the other person again – without hesitating, both marked “yes” on their forms! They were a great match and three years later they were grown so close that most of their friends were expecting an engagement soon, but Tobias was still hesitating. It wasn’t until early 2012, when Kristina went to work in England for 6 months, that Tobias realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He proposed when she came back from her stay abroad and she said yes!

Tobias envisioned a beach wedding, Kristina was sold on the idea and quickly decided to get married at their favorite vacation spot: Southwest Florida!

Vacation restrictions at Tobias’ work only left them a few weeks for the planning from the other side of the pond, but it paid off on October 15th when it all came together and they tied the knot on a wonderful day at Casa Ybel.

Tented Beach Wedding – Casa Ybel Resort, Sanibel { Devorah + Jeff }

One of the things that makes Casa Ybel Resort so unique is the ability to have an outdoor tented wedding overlooking the beach. The Back Lawn overlooking the Gulf of Mexico is a spectacular setting for Sanibel Island weddings. Devorah and Jeff said their vows under a bamboo chuppah on the beach with the aquamarine ocean as their backdrop. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres were served al fresco on the Back Lawn with a rustic chic reception under a tent. The details really made this ocean front beach wedding a sight to see – wine barrel cocktail tables, glitter stitched burlap table linens, chandeliers overhead, and driftwood centerpieces. Perhaps the most memorable features was the entertainment. Stereo Armada by Wiley Entertainment combines DJ mixes with live percussionists for a vibe that keeps the party going all night.

Seaside Tent Wedding – Sanibel Island, FL { Vivian + Scott }

There’s something incredibly romantic and timeless about a wedding under a tent on a lawn overlooking the ocean. Vivian and Scott’s Sanibel Island beach wedding was inspired by the party scene in Meet Joe Black. The white and ivory details gave this elegant seaside wedding an air of sophistication. Some of our favorite unique wedding details: signature “blue” cocktails served pre-ceremony, guitarist on the beach, antique furniture and a donut tower! Vivian and Scott donned their wedding attire the following morning and snagged some amazing photos in the morning light.
