There are few things as glamorous as a tented wedding reception overlooking the beach. Meghan and Bryan’s Sanibel Island wedding at Casa Ybel Resort exuded romance at every detail. The aquamarine waters of the Gulf of Mexico served as backdrop to their beach ceremony while the grassy oceanfront lawn of the resort welcomed wedding guests for cocktail hour and a tented dinner reception.

Shawn and Anthony had their priorities straight when they tied the knot at Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island, FL – Each Other + Fun = Happy Wedding Day. We love these photos of their back lawn wedding ceremony that seem to really capture the spirit of Shawn and Anthony. Just the two of them, laughing together on a grassy lawn overlooking the ocean – how could it get any better? Answer: a motorcycle. A motorcycle with a sidecar, to be exact!

A Classic Beach Wedding at Casa Ybel Resort in Sanibel Island, Florida

Melissa Babins (28 and a teacher) and Evan Flechsig (27 and a programmer) had their wedding in the same place they got engaged: Sanibel Island, Florida. The place is special to them because they have often visited the island’s wildlife refuge together. Because Evan proposed to Melissa on the beach at sunset, it was only fitting that their ceremony also have beautiful water views. The couple was married on the waterfront lawn at the Casa Ybel Resort. To let the venue’s beautiful surroundings speak for itself, Melissa and Evan decorated the ceremony area simply with a draped white wedding arch covered in black, white and gold streamers. They hung sentimental photos from the chairs on the ceremony aisle. At the following reception indoors, Melissa and Evan decorated the dining tables with simple white floral centerpieces and floating candles in ornate silver holders. Instead of having a traditional guest book, the couple invited their guests to sign a dry-erase board and add word magnets to the board as a fun touch. Wedding couples flock from all over the country to Casa Ybel Resort to celebrate their love. One of the gems is our Back Lawn overlooking the sea. Tent weddings on this Gulf view lawn are the epitome of timeless elegance. Chicago couple, Shannon and Andrew, combined white and ivory with touches of silver and seafoam for a color palette that was simply stunning. Florida wedding planner, Courtney Gabelbauer of Fab Chic Weddings, pulled this breathtaking oceanfront event together with finesse. The floral chandeliers and white dance floor took this tented beach wedding over the top.

Colorful Florida Wedding At A Pop-Up Soda Shoppe

Day 2 of our two part series from the creative team of Florida wedding vendors turns up the dial in such a joyful way! If you missed Day 1, be sure to check it out here! Inspired by the rich vibrant hues in Connie Duglin Linens swatch book, the team brought to life a rainbow inspired palette of turquoise, yellow & fuchsia as imagined into a 1940′s style pop up soda shoppe! The beauty to this playful façade, handcrafted by Florida wedding planner CocoLuna Events, is how wonderfully interactive that it is from the ability to nip behind and into the store window to the flower box out front filled with cascading greens by Floral Artistry. A sweetheart low boy table was erected out front for cocktails post ceremony, dressed in the bold linens from Connie Duglin’s collection while guests were served…. handcrafted sodas in matching hues of course! The rest is in the details from Anna & Kerry’s gorgeous retro prep style to their utterly unstoppable smiles & laughter. Sometimes such bold hues can be difficult to work with, but this imaginative crew crafted a uniquely whimsical & playful world that it is so hard not to get swept right along with this sweet little Florida wedding!

Best Wedding Destination in Florida – Sanibel Island Elopement {Kristina + Tobias}

We had great please of meeting a young couple who traveled all the way from Germany to get married here in Southwest Florida. They chose Casa Ybel for their intimate wedding, and it was absolutely perfect! These kids have quite a story to share, so here it is:

The paths of Kristina and Tobias would never have crossed had they not attended a speed dating event in their home town of Frankfurt/Germany. Kristina simply because she was curious, Tobias because a friend of his did not want to go by herself and asked him to join. The rules of this event were simple: 7 men and 7 women got to know each other in one-on-one conversations lasting 7 minutes each. In their 7 minutes together, Kristina and Tobias instantly made a connection talking about cars and motorcycles, but way too soon the bell rang, their mini-date was over and it was time to decide if they want to meet the other person again – without hesitating, both marked “yes” on their forms! They were a great match and three years later they were grown so close that most of their friends were expecting an engagement soon, but Tobias was still hesitating. It wasn’t until early 2012, when Kristina went to work in England for 6 months, that Tobias realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He proposed when she came back from her stay abroad and she said yes!

Tobias envisioned a beach wedding, Kristina was sold on the idea and quickly decided to get married at their favorite vacation spot: Southwest Florida!

Vacation restrictions at Tobias’ work only left them a few weeks for the planning from the other side of the pond, but it paid off on October 15th when it all came together and they tied the knot on a wonderful day at Casa Ybel.
