We recently had a wedding at Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island on April 18, 2014 and it was beyond perfect. Our ceremony was held on the back lawn and we had a patio reception at Thistle Lodge which was amazing. Tori and the entire staff did an outstanding job and we now can remember our “picture perfect wedding”. Everything was coordinated right down to the last details which helped to make every wedding dream come true. Our guests raved about the food and the cake. It was even supposed to rain on our wedding day and the weather held up! We highly recommend Casa Ybel to anyone and we will definitely return for our anniversary and other vacations. The setting is outstanding from the rooms too.

The event staff at Casa Ybel was fantastic. For every request the response was a yes. Tori took care of everything, and the waitstaff was attentive. The food was wonderful. The wedding package option helped make planning simple. Can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary year after year at Casa Ybel.

We had the most stunning destination wedding at casa ybel. We did our ceremony on their gorgeous beach and then the intimate dinner package at thistle lodge. The staff was accommodating and exceeded our expectations. Coming from NY and having never been to sanibel we were nervous but we basically showed up and everything was taken care of for us! The most stress free wedding I could ask for! The food was out if this world!!

Katherine and Carl’s Destination Wedding at Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island

Katherine and Carl had their destination wedding at the Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island. The weather was great with a strong breeze to cool the warm June sun. Family and friends gathered for the late afternoon wedding performed by Dr. Dan Lamey. The ceremony was on the lawn directly behind the Thistle Lodge Restaurant. The children had a great time and it was a photographers’ delight to capture them ‘on film’ . Will is the brides’ son and Sarah and Lauren are her nieces. Of course, the girls were very photogenic and with their wedding bouquets. So, Will had a fall while we were taking photos before the ceremony, someone had a colorful children’s band-aid for the invisible cut….oh another photo op as the bride kisses to make it better!. Meanwhile, the groom and guests were arriving to the ceremony site on the lawn directly behind the Thistle Lodge. The staff at Thistle Lodge had cold Lemonade and Tea for the guests as they gathered and waited for the bridal procession to begin. Then Nicholas the ring bearer strutted down to the ceremony with absolute confidence, another photo op! After the ceremony, the Lieutenant Commander quickly picked up his bride as they walked down the aisle. We then made a group photograph of everyone. The guests walked to the Thistle Lodge Patio for cocktails while we photographed the two families on a beautifully landscaped area at the Casa Ybel Resort. The wedding reception was upstairs in the Waterfront Dining room of the Thistle Lodge. After the dinner, we went for beach photos at sunset and tried to release some lanterns into the Gulf of Mexico….the wind did not cooperate but again….it was a great photo opportunity! Thistle Lodge is the restaurant located in the Casa Ybel Resort. Wedding music and dancing was provided by Steve Farst. Shown here are some of my favorite photographs we created.

It is amazing to be able to come to work everyday and feel like you are headed for a tropical getaway.  Sanibel Island truly is a balmy, breezy, beach paradise.  As if that isn’t enough, I then get to work with some amazing couples to help create and evolve their wedding dreams.  2012 Fall/Winter season here at Casa Ybel was quite busy.Here are some highlights from the last few months.

Casa Ybel Wedding – Julianna + Phil

Julianna and Phil truly had the perfect destination wedding.  Right down to the ” I do ” decals on the back of her purple Kate Spade shoes, which is something I just loved, to the gorgeous weather at Casa Ybel on Sanibel Island.  On Friday, October 26th, 2012 our bride and groom came from Pennsylvania to get married at Casa Ybel Resort on Boardwalk beach.  We are very excited about their movie trailer, it is certain to be amazing, just like Julianna and Phil.  We wish you guys all the best and thank you for letting us be there for your special day. xo

Spending time on Sanibel Island, whether for a photo shoot or to bike around the lighthouse and grab ice cream at Pinocchio’s, is one of our favorite ways to spend a day.  It’s such a laid-back and naturally beautiful place where modern development hasn’t managed to take over.  We photographed Jen and Nick’s sunny wedding at Casa Ybel Resort.  The whole group was a pleasure to work with and we wish the newlyweds all the best.  Congrats Jen and Nick!

Casa Ybel Destination Weddings

Casa Ybel Resort on Sanibel Island, FL is extremely fortunate to have the ability to host many weddings and other events each year at our beautiful resort!  Twenty-three acres of beachfront  property and pristinely landscaped lawn areas, allow us the opportunity to hold multiple functions in one weekend while still keeping each event private and special.
 
Anna-Marie and Tim’s big day began with a breathtaking ceremony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, followed by the cocktail reception on our covered patio, and dinner reception in our
amazing Waterfront Dining Room.   

 The Couple took part in our quaint sand ceremony to mark the unity
of their two lives coming together to form one. 
 The Tables were covered with white linens with stunning centerpieces by one of our preferred florist on our vendor lists “Floral Artistry”.  http://www.floralartistryofsanibel.com/

 

The guests lounged in the cocktail area nibbling on butler passed hors d’ Oeuvres while enjoying the tropical sounds of Danny Morgan and his band with both acoustic guitar and steels drums. http://www.dannymorgan.com/ as our newlyweds snuck off to the beach for photos. 
Anna-Marie’s father was very touching with his speech to his daughter and new son-in-law.  He had the entire room in tears as he remembered each and every milestone event of her childhood. 
  

Our bride and groom had and opportunity for some quiet time together and the pleasure of enjoying our amazing sunsets on our sandy beaches.
