Sanibel Wedding
Kim and Linda dreamed of a destination wedding on a tropical island. Their research brought them to Sanibel Island. They chose me as their Sanibel wedding photographer. Kim and Linda arrived from Sweden with their two sons for a sunset wedding at the Casa Ybel Resort. We met early for family photographs and special images that Linda hoped for on this sunny afternoon. We walked around the beautifully landscaped Casa Ybel Resort for over an hour before the beach wedding ceremony. The flowers were created by Floral Artistry of Sanibel Island. The beautiful bouquet looked just perfect for this lovely bride. It was soon time to meet the minister, so the boys and I waited at the pool bar that overlooks the Gulf of Mexico. The bartender was Kasey and he served ice cold refreshments while we waited.
We were all introduced to the wedding officiant, Carl Perstad who was assisted by his wife Susanne. They live in Cape Coral and perform weddings in the Fort Myers area. They are originally from Sweden and performed the ceremony in their native language. It was joyful vows with smiles and happy faces. I did not understand the ceremony words spoken in the Swedish language. However, when I saw Kim and Linda kiss, I knew they were officially declared husband and wife and I photographed their first kiss. Susanne then prepared a champagne toast for the newlyweds while they were hugging their sons. The marriage license was signed while everyone enjoyed champagne and soft drinks.

Carl and Susanne then gave goodbye hugs and congratulations to the wedding party. I looked at the sun and knew how much time until sunset. I created Sanibel wedding photography for over twenty years on this beautiful island. We captured the family walking down the beach and the boys enjoyed looking for seashells. Sunset was gaining color so our last picture was Linda’s request for an image of her jumping in the air.
Shown here are my favorite images that we created. The wedding family walked to the Thistle Lodge for their celebration dinner.
